Pop BandShort Cut is a band capable in multiple different styles. The repertoire is mainly based on Pop Jazz and Latin music but the band also performs more traditional styles.The leader and singer of Short Cut band Anna Wiksten graduated from Pop & Jazz Conservatory in the year 2003. She has studied with teachers like Christine Correa and Johanna Iivanainen. Earlier experience Wiksten has also had from working in multiple different ensembles. She has familiarized her self in Pop style by singing in a singer group Government Girls & the Senators Son’s. Experiences in swing has been achieved by working in Porvoo Big Band and Latin music she has studied all the way in Cuba with Salsa band Silverio Mi Son. |

Juha KujanpääBig part of the Short Cut’s musical experience comes in the form of piano player Juha Kujanpää. Not only has Kujanpää finished he’s studies in Pop & Jazz pedagogy but he has also done a master’s decree in music education. Besides he’s studies Kujanpää has also worked as a piano teacher and as a performing musician for years. As a musician Kujanpää is known from ensembles like Jyväskylä Big Band and Kentauri and Avara orchestras. He has also worked as a theater musician with improvisational theater Häpeämättömät. In Short Cut the drums are played by Markus Jaatinen. Jaatinen studies music in Helsinki Polytechnic School with drums and percussion as hes main instruments. Specially Latin rhythm’s are the main styles of this hard working musician. The bass is played by Yhtyeet.net website designer Antti Saksa. |
